A quick and easy recipe to cook frozen burger patties in the air fryer, resulting in juicy, tender burgers with a crispy exterior in about 10 minutes.

Ingredients

  • Frozen burger patties (beef, turkey, chicken, or plant-based)
  • Cooking spray or a light brush of oil
  • Salt and pepper
  • Sliced cheese (optional: cheddar, American, pepper jack, blue cheese, Swiss, vegan cheese)
  • Burger buns (toasted in air fryer or soft)
  • Condiments and toppings: lettuce, tomato slices, pickles, ketchup, mustard, mayo

Instructions

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) and let it heat up for about 3 minutes.
  2. Lightly spray both sides of frozen burger patties with cooking spray or brush with a little oil. Sprinkle salt and pepper evenly on each side.
  3. Place patties in the air fryer basket flat with some space between each. Avoid overcrowding.
  4. Cook at 375°F (190°C) for 7 minutes. Flip patties halfway through (around 3-4 minutes).
  5. If using cheese, place a slice on each patty after flipping to melt during remaining cook time.
  6. Check internal temperature with a thermometer to ensure patties reach 160°F (71°C). If not, cook an additional 1-2 minutes.
  7. Toast buns in the air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for 1-2 minutes, cut side up, if desired.
  8. Assemble burgers with patties, buns, and your favorite toppings and condiments. Serve immediately.

Notes

Do not skip preheating the air fryer to lock in juices and create a crispy crust. Flip patties halfway through cooking for even browning. Use a thermometer to ensure internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C) for safety. Avoid pressing patties during cooking to prevent dryness. Cook in batches if making multiple patties to avoid overcrowding. Adjust cook time if patties are thicker than usual.
