Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 ounces (85 g) flavored gelatin mix (like strawberry or lime)
  • 1 cup (240 ml) boiling water
  • 1 cup (240 ml) cold water
  • 1 cup (240 g) vanilla frosting (store-bought or homemade)
  • 2 cups (60 g) mini pretzels
  • 1/4 cup (30 g) rainbow sprinkles
  • 8 ounces (225 g) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup (120 g) marshmallow fluff
  • 1/4 cup (30 g) powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) vanilla extract
  • Fresh or canned fruit slices (apple, pineapple, strawberries)
  • 1 plain microwave popcorn bag
  • 2 tablespoons (28 g) unsalted butter, melted
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Jell-O Jigglers: In a medium bowl, dissolve the 3-ounce flavored gelatin mix in 1 cup boiling water. Stir until completely dissolved. Add 1 cup cold water and mix well. Pour the mixture into a shallow baking dish or silicone molds. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or until firm. Cut into fun shapes using cookie cutters or squares.
  2. Make the Dunkaroos-Inspired Snack: In a bowl, combine 1 cup vanilla frosting with 1/4 cup rainbow sprinkles. Mix until evenly distributed. Serve with 2 cups mini pretzels for dipping. Keep frosting chilled if not serving immediately.
  3. Whip up the Retro Fruit Dip: Using a mixer or whisk, beat 8 ounces softened cream cheese until smooth. Gradually add 1/2 cup marshmallow fluff and 1/4 cup powdered sugar, mixing until fluffy. Stir in 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. Serve with fresh or canned fruit slices. Chill for 30 minutes before serving for better texture.
  4. Pop the Microwave Buttered Popcorn: Microwave a plain popcorn bag according to package instructions. Transfer to a large bowl while hot, drizzle 2 tablespoons melted unsalted butter over popcorn, and toss to coat evenly. Sprinkle with salt to taste.

Notes

Prepare Jell-O jigglers first as they require at least 4 hours to set. Keep frosting chilled until serving to maintain consistency. Pop popcorn last minute for freshness or store in airtight container for up to 1 day. Use plastic knife or warm cookie cutters for clean gelatin shapes. Soften cream cheese fully before mixing to avoid lumps. For vegan versions, use agar-agar instead of gelatin and dairy-free cream cheese and frosting.
