Ingredients

  • Assorted crackers (multigrain and water crackers)
  • Baguette slices, toasted
  • Mixed nuts (roasted almonds and cashews)
  • Cherry tomatoes, halved
  • Cucumber slices
  • Baby carrots
  • Radishes, thinly sliced
  • Sharp cheddar, cubed
  • Soft goat cheese
  • Marinated mozzarella balls (bocconcini)
  • Sliced salami (mild Italian-style)
  • Prosciutto slices
  • Hummus (classic or roasted red pepper)
  • Herb yogurt dip (1 cup Greek yogurt, 2 tbsp chopped fresh dill, 1 small garlic clove minced, 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice, salt and pepper to taste)
  • Mixed olives, pitted (Kalamata and green olives, marinated if possible)
  • Fresh herbs for garnish (parsley, basil, or thyme)
  • Honey or fig jam

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry all fresh vegetables thoroughly. Slice cucumbers and radishes thinly. Halve cherry tomatoes and arrange baby carrots in a bowl. Chill all veggies in the fridge until assembly.
  2. Cut the baguette into 1/4-inch slices. Toast them lightly in a 350°F oven for 5-7 minutes or until golden and crisp. Let cool completely on a wire rack.
  3. Cube the sharp cheddar and transfer to a bowl. Place goat cheese in a small serving dish and drizzle with a little olive oil if desired. Drain marinated mozzarella balls, pat dry, and set aside.
  4. Roll prosciutto slices loosely and fold salami slices. Arrange on a platter or keep wrapped in parchment paper until assembly.
  5. In a bowl, combine Greek yogurt, chopped dill, minced garlic, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Chill until ready to serve.
  6. On your serving board, place small bowls with hummus, herb dip, and olives. Arrange crackers and toasted baguette slices around the dips. Add clusters of cheeses, meats, and veggies in groups, balancing colors and textures. Garnish with fresh herbs and small dollops of honey or fig jam near cheese.
  7. Cover loosely with plastic wrap and store in the fridge if not serving immediately. Bring to room temperature about 30 minutes before guests arrive.

Notes

Prep most components up to two days ahead for stress-free assembly. Keep dips and juicy items in bowls to prevent crackers from getting soggy. Bring cheeses and dips to room temperature 30 minutes before serving for best flavor. Label items for dietary preferences if needed. Toast baguette slices early and cool completely to avoid sogginess.
