A quick and easy homemade iced chai latte topped with a velvety pumpkin cream cold foam. This copycat recipe is better than the coffee shop version and comes together in under 10 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (240 ml) chai concentrate (store-bought or homemade)
  • ½ cup (120 ml) whole milk or oat milk
  • 2 tablespoons canned pumpkin puree (100% pure, not pie filling)
  • 1 tablespoon powdered sugar
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 tiny pinch salt
  • Ice cubes (preferably large)
  • Optional garnish: cinnamon or nutmeg, cinnamon stick

Instructions

  1. Make the pumpkin cream: In a small bowl or mason jar, combine 2 tablespoons pumpkin puree, ½ cup cold milk, 1 tablespoon powdered sugar, ½ teaspoon vanilla extract, ¼ teaspoon pumpkin pie spice, and a tiny pinch of salt. Stir until fully incorporated and no lumps remain.
  2. Froth the cream: Using a handheld milk frother, blend the mixture until thick and frothy, about 30 to 45 seconds. It should be thick enough to sit on top of the chai but still pourable.
  3. Fill a tall glass to the top with ice cubes.
  4. Slowly pour 1 cup of chai concentrate over the ice. Stir gently to combine.
  5. Top with pumpkin cream: Gently pour the pumpkin cold foam over the back of a spoon onto the chai to help it float.
  6. Garnish with a sprinkle of cinnamon or nutmeg and a cinnamon stick if desired. Serve immediately with a straw.

Notes

Use cold ingredients for the best foam. Do not over-froth; stop when the mixture is thick but still pourable. Taste your chai concentrate first to adjust sweetness. For a dairy-free version, use oat milk. The pumpkin cream mixture can be made a day ahead and stored in the fridge.
