A quick and fun Halloween snack featuring hot dogs wrapped in flaky crescent roll dough with playful mustard eyes. Perfect for parties or a cozy night in.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 regular-sized hot dogs
  • 1 can (8 oz / 226 g) crescent roll dough
  • Yellow mustard (for eyes)
  • Olive oil or melted butter (for brushing)
  • Optional: sesame seeds or poppy seeds for texture
  • Optional: cheese slices for inside the dough
  • Optional: vegetarian or vegan hot dogs as a plant-based alternative

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a 9×13 inch baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll the crescent roll dough and press the perforations together to form rectangles.
  3. Slice the dough into thin strips about 1/4 inch (0.6 cm) wide.
  4. Wrap each hot dog loosely with dough strips, leaving a small gap at one end for the face.
  5. Brush each wrapped hot dog with olive oil or melted butter.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes until the dough is golden and crispy.
  7. Remove from oven and let cool for 2-3 minutes.
  8. Dot two small mustard spots near the face end of each mummy using a toothpick or knife tip.
  9. Serve warm.

Notes

Do not wrap dough too tightly to keep it crispy. Use room temperature dough for easier handling. Brush with olive oil or melted butter for golden crispiness. Add mustard eyes after baking and cooling to avoid smudging. If dough browns too quickly, tent with foil.
