This copycat pumpkin cream cold foam coffee is a quick and easy fall treat that brings the coffee shop experience home. With a thick, velvety cold foam made from simple ingredients, it’s the perfect cozy drink for crisp autumn mornings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons whole milk
  • 1 tablespoon pumpkin puree
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 cup strong brewed coffee or espresso

Instructions

  1. Brew 1 cup of strong coffee or a double shot of espresso. Set aside in your mug.
  2. In a small bowl or jar, combine 2 tablespoons heavy cream, 2 tablespoons whole milk, 1 tablespoon pumpkin puree, 1 tablespoon maple syrup, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract, 1/4 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice, and a pinch of salt. Stir until the pumpkin puree is fully incorporated.
  3. Using a handheld milk frother, immersion blender, or regular blender, froth the mixture for 20-30 seconds until it doubles in volume and becomes thick and creamy with soft peaks.
  4. Check the consistency: the foam should be thick enough to sit on a spoon without dripping off immediately. If too thin, froth another 10 seconds; if too thick, add a splash more milk.
  5. Ensure the brewed coffee is hot. If needed, microwave for 20 seconds.
  6. Using a spoon, gently scoop the cold foam onto the top of the hot coffee, starting around the edges and working toward the center to create an even layer.
  7. Sprinkle a tiny pinch of pumpkin pie spice or cinnamon on top for garnish. Serve immediately.

Notes

The cold foam is best used immediately. If it sits for more than 5 minutes, it will start to separate. For a dairy-free version, substitute heavy cream with full-fat coconut cream and milk with oat or almond milk. To stabilize the foam, add a tiny pinch of xanthan gum before frothing.
