Ingredients

  • Smoked sausage or kielbasa, sliced into ¼-inch rounds
  • Smoked turkey or ham, cut into bite-sized cubes or ribbons
  • Prosciutto or speck (optional)
  • Smoked gouda, cubed
  • Sharp white cheddar, cubed
  • Smoked mozzarella pearls (optional)
  • Smoked almonds
  • Pumpkin seeds or pepitas, toasted
  • Mini pretzel twists
  • Dried apricots, halved
  • Dried cherries or cranberries
  • Honey or fig jam
  • Fresh rosemary sprigs
  • Smoky paprika
  • Flaky sea salt

Instructions

  1. Prep your ingredients: Cube smoked gouda and sharp white cheddar into ½-inch cubes. Slice smoked sausage into ¼-inch rounds. Tear prosciutto into rough strips. Halve dried apricots. Measure almonds and pumpkin seeds.
  2. Layer the cups: Place 3-4 smoked sausage rounds at the bottom of each cup. Add 4-5 cheese cubes (mix of gouda and cheddar). Add a few prosciutto strips, letting them curl up the sides.
  3. Add crunch and sweetness: Sprinkle about 1 tablespoon smoked almonds and 1 teaspoon pumpkin seeds per cup. Tuck in 2-3 dried apricot halves and a small handful of dried cherries. Shake gently to settle.
  4. Top with pretzels and garnish: Stick 2-3 mini pretzel twists into each cup at an angle. Drizzle about 1 teaspoon honey or a small dollop of fig jam in the center. Sprinkle with flaky sea salt, a light dusting of smoky paprika, and a small rosemary sprig.
  5. Chill or serve immediately: Serve within an hour of assembly, or refrigerate for up to 4 hours. Leave pretzels and garnish off until serving to keep them crunchy.

Notes

For best flavor, use naturally smoked cheeses and meats. Leave about ½ inch of space at the top of each cup to prevent spilling. The honey drizzle is highly recommended for a sweet-salty finish. These cups taste best about an hour after assembly, at room temperature. Do not microwave leftovers.
